Redirect map – a skill for Claude
Matches old URLs to new ones for a migration and exports ready-to-use redirect rules.
What it checks and does
- Exact, slug and title-similarity matching with a confidence score
- Chains collapsed, loops and self-redirects caught
- Targets missing from the new site flagged
- Cloudflare Pages / Netlify _redirects, Nginx, Apache, CSV
Try asking
“Map old-sitemap.xml to new-sitemap.xml and give me a _redirects file.”
Script
redirect_map.py – Python 3.8+, standard library only, covered by the pack's tests. Claude runs it and reads only the output, so long files don't fill your context.
When Claude uses it
The skill's description, which Claude matches against your request:
Build a 301 redirect map for a site migration, redesign or URL cleanup by matching old URLs to new URLs (exact path, slug and title similarity), detect chains, loops and redirects to missing pages, and export rules for Cloudflare Pages/Netlify _redirects, Nginx, Apache .htaccess or CSV. Use when the user is migrating a site, changing domains or URL structure, fixing 404s from Search Console, or asks for redirects.
