Image alt text – a skill for Claude

Finds images with missing or poor alt text, writes good alt text from context, and applies it.

What it checks and does

  • Missing alt, empty alt on linked or large images
  • Alt that is just the file name or starts with "image of"
  • Overlong and repeated alt text
  • Applies your approved alt text to the HTML (keeps a .bak copy)

Try asking

“Fix the alt text in ./site.”

Script

find_alt_issues.py – Python 3.8+, standard library only, covered by the pack's tests. Claude runs it and reads only the output, so long files don't fill your context.
