Technical SEO audit – a skill for Claude
Page-level audit of a built site, saved pages or URLs, sorted into critical, high, medium and low fixes.
What it checks and does
- Missing or duplicate titles and meta descriptions, length problems
- noindex in meta robots or X-Robots-Tag
- Missing canonical, canonical pointing off-site
- No H1 or several H1s, missing lang and viewport
- Broken JSON-LD (invalid JSON)
- Images without alt, pages with very few internal links
- Missing Open Graph tags
Try asking
“Audit the SEO of ./dist for https://example.com and give me the fixes in priority order.”
Script
audit_html.py – Python 3.8+, standard library only, covered by the pack's tests. Claude runs it and reads only the output, so long files don't fill your context.
When Claude uses it
The skill's description, which Claude matches against your request:
Run a page-level technical SEO audit on saved HTML files, a built site folder, or live URLs (title, meta description, H1, canonical, robots/noindex, lang, viewport, Open Graph, JSON-LD syntax, image alt, link counts) and turn the findings into a prioritized fix list. Use when the user asks for an SEO audit, an on-page check, "why isn't my page ranking", or a pre-launch check of a static site.
